Resource Consumption

Reduction of Resource Consumption

We recognise that reducing resource consumption makes for good business practise and is important both to preserve the environment as well as reducing operating costs.  This is why we have built it into our ESG strategy as a key pillar and our ambition is to consume fewer resources year on year.

As a business we understand that the flights provided to our customers represent the most significant consumption of resources and we are seeking to address this impact with our carbon offsetting programme.  Additionally however in FY21, the Air Partner Group began the process of mapping carbon emission associated with our own business related travel requirements.  We appreciate the importance of leading by example and once this data gathering exercise has been completed, we aim to make our own offsetting contribution in support of ClimateCare projects.

The coronavirus pandemic has taught us important lessons about how to adapt as business and there has been a considerable reduction in the resources consumed associated with a rise in both homeworking and video conferencing to avoid unnecessary travel.  We are proud of the way in which our people have adapted providing our customers with uninterrupted services and delivering the same high quality and standards as prior to the pandemic.  We have introduced a new hybrid working model for staff who can work from home which will be the new normal in the post-pandemic era, providing a number of benefits including a reduction in resources consumed.

The following are just a few examples of the ways in which as a business we have been innovative to reduce our resource consumption:

Marketing Materials

In 2022 we undertook a full environmental review of the materials we purchase to assist with the marketing of our products and services.  This review has resulted in a considerable shift towards more sustainable procurement and an overall reduction in the resources consumed, including many of our materials now only being available in digital format.

Digital Learning

The global Covid-19 pandemic has provided a number of opportunities for the Air Partner Group to develop new approaches to service delivery and there is no better example than the growth of our digital proposition.  Our Safety and Security divisions have digitised a number of our core training products which have been marketed to reach aviation personnel in a way that was both cost effective and compliant with the various pandemic restrictions in place.  We are proud to be the first aviation training provider in the UK to make such a move when many in the industry previously believed this couldn’t be done.  The journey to achieve this has been incredibly short and is testament to the dedication and expertise of everybody in the team to do the very best by our customers who have provided very positive feedback.  Virtual training it seems, is here to stay as part of a new, enriched and blended proposition to enhance our customer experience.

Renewable Energy for Offices

We are proud to be able to say that all our offices around the World are now supplied by renewable energy sources.  Additionally, we have an Energy Efficiency programme which outlines measures we have taken to reduce energy consumption.

Paperless office environments

An Air Partner Project Group are currently working towards a paperless future and our aspiration is to be truly paperless.  We understand the environmental implications linked to the consumption of paper and our intentions are not only to eliminate paper generated by our Group but also to demand paperless transactions from our supply chain.
