Air Partner USA, a global aviation services group with a U.S.-based office in Fort Lauderdale, today announced a donation of nearly $13,000 to Feeding South Florida, the leading domestic hunger-relief organization serving Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties. The donation will provide more than 100,000 meals in support of the community’s food insecure population, which has more than doubled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is no question that this has been a very challenging year that has left people in difficult circumstances and to this end, we are focused on giving back to touch the lives of people who need it most in our communities,” said Air Partner’s CEO Mark Briffa. “Feeding South Florida’s mission to end hunger in South Florida has never been more dire, and we’re honored to be a part of this great cause that is truly transforming lives.”

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Feeding South Florida is serving an estimated 1.5 million people – and rising – who are food insecure. This is an increase from 706,000 individuals prior to COVID-19. Now more than ever, Feeding South Florida is in urgent need of donations to keep up with the high demand of families facing hardships. In fact, more than 40% of people seeking help from Feeding South Florida amid the pandemic are doing so for the first time.

As part of Air Partner’s new corporate initiative in honor of National Giving Month this December, the company is donating to charities across each of its key office locations, including Feeding South Florida (U.S. Office), Fare Share Sussex (Gatwick Office), Real Help Doncaster (Doncaster Office) and Helping Hands Cologne (Europe Office). Air Partner has made the donations on behalf of every employee in the business, which is approximately 420 people.

“This time of the year is all about giving back, which couldn’t be more important in the face of COVID-19, but it doesn’t stop here,” added David McCown, president of Air Partner USA. “We will continue to look for ways to make positive contributions to support our local communities and those hardest hit by the ongoing pandemic.”
