Best time to go
February - April is the ideal time to go. Although coinciding with school holidays, with half an acre of snow per skier you needn't worry. The resort particularly stand out in April, when the sun is stronger and the resort is often witness to more fresh snow than all the other months put together.

The longest piste, Grande Motte, or the most difficult, Sache.
Where to stay
For a central location and atmospheric Alpine accommodation, Le Blizzard is the ideal 5* hide out in Val d'Isère. If you're looking for something slightly different, the luxurious Le Taos offers chic suites designed in a New Mexican style.
Where to dine
Widely considered the best restaurant on the mountain, Le Table de l'Ours offers contemporary twists on classic tastes in a wood-paneled setting with a roaring fire. If you're looking for something more informal, La Peau de Vache serves unforgettable burgers with the usual skiing fare of potatoes and cheese in various guises.
Where to après ski
La Folie Douce is the only action on the mountain, located at the top of La Daille gondola. The place rocks from mid-afternoon with DJs and llive bands until the lifts close.
Where to party
Dicks Tea Bar is open until 5am with live sax and electric violin every night. If you enjoy live music, Le Petit Danois also offers drinks and live music until the early hours.
Where to unwind
Renowned in Val d'Isère, the Deep Nature spa at the Hotel l'Aigle des Neiges offers a full range of treatments, although the highlight are the Algotherm Marine Spa treatments.
How to get there
Fly into Chambery airport and it's a 30 minute helicopter transfer or just under 2 hours by road.
