In just six years, Air Partner’s annual European Operator Day has established itself as a major event in aviation circles.
This year’s experience was organised by Air Partner Italy and staged in the picturesque Lake Maggiore region in June. It attracted a record number of 118 invitees from 74 private, commercial and freight airlines who flew into Milan from all points on the compass.
Guests were hosted by 76 Air Partner representatives from its private jet, commercial airliner, freight, operations, flight planning, and sub-charter divisions based throughout Europe and the US.
The day began at the historical Regina Palace Hotel in Stresa where Air Partner flags were hoisted to set the scene. The group then cruised on the Piemonte, a traditional steam paddle boat, while enjoying a long, lazy lunch of fine Italian food and taking in the picturesque islands of Isola Superiore and Isola Bella. A sumptuous dinner in the evening at the hotel was followed by a visit to the local nightclub for the young at heart.
Guests travelled to the Italian lake district from within Italy and from the UK, Poland, France, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Slovenia, Finland, and the Slovak and Czech Republics. There were also two guests from the US.
European Operator Day enables Air Partner to thank its suppliers and past events have been enjoyed in Germany, Palma de Majorca (twice), Hungary and France. The 2009 summer event will be organised by the company’s Malmo-based team and staged in Sweden.
