Air Partner agrees new partnership with the Sale Sharks

Air Partner - 08 mar. 2017

Air Partner, the global aviation services group, is delighted to announce its new partnership with the Sale Sharks, the professional rugby club. As part of the agreement, Air Partner will become one of the club’s official sponsors alongside a number of other leading brands. Both Air Partner’s Commercial Jets and Private Jets divisions will look to support the club’s travel requirements.

The Sharks called upon Air Partner’s Commercial Jets team just last month to arrange the team’s return flight from Manchester to Toulon in France for an important European Rugby Champions Cup fixture against RC Toulon. The journey needed to be as stress-free as possible for the players before the big game so there was a dedicated flight manager on hand to oversee all aspects of the charter from start to finish, who also accompanied the team on both the outbound and return journeys.

Air Partner has worked with the sports industry for over 50 years and has an in-depth understanding of the travel needs of elite sportspeople, their teams and fans. In 2016 alone, the European team transported a total of over 21,400 passengers on over 350 flights to 130 destinations globally for various sporting events. These ranged from the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro to the Euros in France and the Giro d’Italia bike race in Italy.

Flight charter means that sporting clients can work to their own schedule, save valuable time, and travel in comfort and style. By avoiding queues at check-in and flying to the airports closest to the competition venue, players are able to avoid unnecessary fatigue and hassle. Whether it’s the Commercial Jets division flying out sportspeople or their fans to matches, or the Private Jets team organising the travel for club owners and VIP corporate guests, Air Partner always goes the extra mile for its sports clients. Another enormous benefit is the group’s CharterPLUS assurance, which guarantees a replacement aircraft in the unlikely event of a technical issue. When there is a match to be played, getting the team there on time is of the utmost importance.

Mark Briffa, CEO of Air Partner, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have agreed this partnership with the Sharks and to have flown them to their recent game in France. Air Partner has worked closely with the sports industry for several decades now and knows that it is the details that really matter - whether it’s providing an on-board physiotherapist, arranging bespoke catering in line with players’ dietary requirements, or maximising branding opportunities. Our ServicePLUS offering also means that our sporting clients can customise their flights any way they want to ensure they have a winning travel experience every single time.”

Mark Cueto, Sale Sharks Commercial Director, said: “We are delighted that Air Partner has joined our expanding portfolio of club sponsors. Their understanding and experience of working with some of the country's top sports teams means they are perfectly placed to support the needs of our squad, owners and corporate partners, as demonstrated by our recent trip to Toulon. We look forward to working with them over the coming year.”
