Air Partner Freight wins new East European business, forges stronger links in Italy and re-brands

Air Partner Freight has experienced initial success in ‘go now’ business from new markets in Eastern Europe following the opening of its German operation.

“Automotive spares have been flying around at night on a regular basis ever since our Cologne-based cargo division opened on June 18,” explained Freight Manager Richard Smith. “Newly-appointed Mike Hill, Freight Development Manager for the region, generated almost immediate results. He has been working closely with colleagues in Austria and Hungary and it is apparent there is strong potential for us in these markets.”

In one instance, an urgent airbridge was created when a rail stoppage halted traditional transport methods to move car parts from Budapest to Hanover.

In just one hour, cargo analysts in the UK and Germany sourced and booked two ATPs, a Shorts 360 and an Antonov 26 to undertake four flights, three in one day and another the following morning.

Air Partner’s passenger and freight collaboration with Italy’s Mistral Air is also going from strength to strength. It has already provided substitute capacity to operate postal flights from Rome to Sardinia and four more charters are pre-booked for this week.

Air Partner Freight donned the fresh, new corporate identity this month (July) in line with the global re-branding of the Air Partner Group as it enters a new era of growth and development. It recently announced plans to expand its freight teams in Dubai, Paris and at its London Gatwick headquarters and is reviewing cargo growth potential in India, China, the US and Japan.
