Air Partner helps DFID fly over 1,000 tents for Turkish quake victims

Air Partner is a leading provider of private aviation services to industry, commerce and governments worldwide.

Air Partner is working closely with the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) to fly emergency relief aid to Turkey, following the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that devastated the Van province on Sunday.

Following approval from Turkish officials on Wednesday, the freight team at Air Partner worked around the clock to secure the necessary overflight and landing permits, and ensure that aid was dispatched as quickly as possible.  Clive Chalmers, UK Freight Manager at Air Partner, said: “A giant Antonov AN124 has been chartered and filled with 1,144 tents, weighing a total of 95 tonnes.  The dedication and specialist knowledge of our freight team, combined with extensive broking experience, ensured quick and efficient delivery to those who need it most.”

Since January this year, Air Partner has provided 65 flights, evacuating more than 12,000 people and providing approximately 400 tonnes of aid for governments, NGOs and corporates.
