Account Manager - Commercial Jets (with ops experience)

 The Account Manager will report directly to the Assistant Manager to ensure completion of the day-to-day operational tasks relating to the the MOD account, whilst also attaining and maintaining high earning key accounts.  You should be familiar with aviation planning and operating requirements, together with a sound understanding of aircraft capabilities.  Some experience of contingency planning would also be an advantage.

 

To compliment the primary role, it will be necessary on occasion to be included in various field activities such as client visits, airline visits, aircraft viewing’s and flight riding.

 

 

Job Accountabilities

 

General responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

  • Achieving targets set for each financial year

  • Providing support to the Senior Account Manager’s in all aspects of trading and day-to-day operational tasks

  • Maintaining contact and developing relationships with your clients and suppliers

  • Assisting with client care activities and supplier relations

  • Ensuring all new enquiries are entered correctly into Axis and updated on a regular basis

  • Speedy turnaround of new and existing client enquiries and tenders

  • After sales service and orderly maintenance of paperwork/files

  • Conform to all company procedures as set down in the employment contract and the staff manual

  • Dealing with the peaks and troughs of the aviation industry

  • Dealing with demanding clients and high profile accounts

  • Dealing with challenging carriers operating complex routings

  • Out of hours work

 

 

 Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience

 

  • Operations or airline experience is essential

  • Sound understanding of aviation planning and operating requirements

  • Good understanding of changing markets both in operators and clients

  • Client focused with good people skills and the ability to form relationships with key individuals

  • Ability to communicate effectively both with the team and the office

  • Ability to anticipate and out manoeuvre rivals in competitive tenders

  • Ability to generate consistent GP for the company

  • Excellent time management skills to ensure rigorous contract and project deadlines are met

  • Strong telephone manner

  • Well organised and resourceful

  • IT literate with the ability to learn the functions of a new system

  • Numerate, efficient and accurate

  • Ability to maintain a sense of humour, even in a pressured situation
