Air Partner is pleased to announce that it has been given the go-ahead for its 175,000 sq ft state-of-the-art high security private jet enclave at London Biggin Hill Airport.
Construction of the £7m enclave will start this spring and comes at a time of growing capacity restraints for most UK private jet airports. Biggin Hill is the only airport within the M25 dedicated to private jets and is just 14 miles south of the City of London. It is the capital’s last remaining non-slot regulated airport which enables Air Partner to offer clients greater travel flexibility. Additionally, the runway is currently using less than 15% of its total permitted private jet movements.
Air Partner’s new site is designed by leading airport architects 3DReid and is due to be completed in late 2009. The site, which is accessed via a secure approach road, will comprise ground floor VIP aircraft handling, linked to a mezzanine flight operations centre, office suites for associated airport-related businesses, and further areas dedicated to private jet maintenance operations. The high tech hangar will have a 94 metre door span, and will accommodate a mix of more than 20 jets, up to and including the Boeing Business Jet. Marketing of these facilities will start in May 2008.
David Savile, Chief Executive, commented: “With other private jet airports straining at the seams and turning away existing business, we have decided to consolidate our plans at Biggin Hill and build one state of the art site. Biggin Hill’s location and capacity, combined with Air Partner’s managed fleet and client base, will enable us to develop a premier private jet base that fulfils all of our client’s needs, and attracts new corporate users to the facility.”
